Nice round trip!

Frank!

Question for you about the WINS project. Would it be difficult to break news
out of the package to be used as a stand alone or do you think it would be
easier to cut over to D'Bridge?

J..

Does D'Bridge do direct NNTP client functions?

Yes, should be straightforward. All of those PPP Project modules are,
technically, standalone. There are dependencies for user data, as others have
noted, given that some NNTP servers require authentication. They are also
spawned from the main module, but can be run directly with a correct command
line.

No, D'Bridge would require the use of WWIVToss as well.

I was able to get news.exe working (as you can tell) but I had too many lines
commented out in net.ini. I'll dig around and see if I can find more
documentation for the news module so I can do as muchas I can from the command
line.

Thanks!

D'Bridge uses SOUP to download USEnet. Then it converts the messages
to FTN format. Then WWIVTOSS would have to be used to convert from FTN
to WWIV.

That is how I have things working over here. Sounds more complicated
than it really is.
